On batting

While more expensive than most other batting brands, stocking Quilters Dream was an easy decision. When I make a quilt, its primarily for the ones I love and care for. After all of the thought, time, and expense invested in making a quilt, making sure the batting will stand up to the rigors of daily use and time is important. I want that for you too.

Quilters Dream battings deliver outstanding quality batt after batt, roll after roll. They are luscious, consistent and strong. The manufacturing process prevents the battings from shifting and wadding up. Battings that include natural materials are exceptionally clean, and practically seed and debris free. Neps? Not in Quilters Dream battings.

The Cotton and 80/20 battings do not use scrims, resins or glue. All cotton used in the various battings is high grade long staple cotton, which is mechanically cleaned instead of using chemicals to do the work.

Fine denier poly microfiber is used in the 80/20 and Puff battings. The poly micro fibers give loft and resist creases and wrinkles in the finished quilt. The Puff batting is exceptionally warm, light and breathable with a high loft.

Bamboo batting blends bamboo, tussah silk, Tencel® and cotton to make a batting that’s warm and breathable with great drape and minimal shrinkage.

Quilters Dream Wool is made with scoured and super washed domestic and merino wool long cut tops. Fine denier low melt polyester is used to thermally bond the fibres. No resins or scrims are used in the thermal bonding process. When the polyester melts, fibres bond with each other to secure the wool. On cooling, the bonding points solidify to ensure the strength and performance of the batting.

If you prefer to use a different batting, please bring it along with your quilt top and backing.
